Baroness Shaista Gohir OBE

Shaista is a leading women's rights campaigner and trustee (and Co-Chair) of the award-winning charity Muslim Women's Network UK, which she has spent the last 18 years building. She is the fund raiser at that charity and will use her expertise to also secure funding from larger foundations. Shaista also brings her experience of use setting up processes for grant assessment, allocation and monitoring gained through her consultancy work with local councils. She will also has experience of making best use of technology within charities to improve efficiency, manage beneficiaries and data analysis for evaluations and learning. She is also familiar with the work of the international charity sector through previous campaigning and advocacy roles at Oxfam GB and Save the Children UK. She has also been a member of the Gobal Advisory at Musawah, a global movement to advance the rights of Muslim women, which is based in Malaysia.
